Paper Recycling
Bond Paper: white or coloured
office bond paper (valuable)
Newsprint: newspapers
(medium value)
...recycled into more paper,
the fibres will shorten every
time it's recycled, so virgin
fibre is usually mixed in to
keep the quality of "office
paper".
Mixed paper: shiny
magazines, shiny
flyers
(low value)
... recycled newsprint can have several end
uses: more newsprint (remembering that the
fibers are being shortened, so the integrity of
the paper product is a problem), or it can be
made into a pulpy, fluffy, dry insulation to be
blown into your ceiling (and other places!)
...these sorts of glossy papers
are more of a contaminant.
The clay and all the additives
are a big problem. Apparently
recycled paper mills will add
this to other paper mixes in
small amounts.
