Reduce Your Footprint - Radical Measures
Go shopping with a cart No, not the cart you were thinking of, this cart would ensure you get your exercise as well as the groceries!
Use non-disposable toilet paper Use old diaper material, cut into convenient squares, and place on a shelf in the bathroom. You will also need some sort of pail to put them in when they are soiled. Wash just like you would cloth diapers! (For an environmental cleaner, use vinegar instead of bleach in the wash, and vinegar for the rinse cycle too. You will be amazed at how white they will stay!)
Warning: This page not for the Faint-hearted
Human-ure Compost Toilet: The idea is very simple; take a bucket, use it for a toilet, (you might want a toilet seat on it!), cover the droppings with sawdust, when the bucket is getting full, throw it on the compost pile. The concept is centuries old and hails from the Orient. Very rich in nutrients.

Use Public transit The bus is not so bad! I remember taking it when I lived in Calgary: once you know the bus schedule, everything just needs to work around it. Get organized! Bring something to do while you are being chauffeured around!
energy efficient vehicles A smaller step would be to buy a vehicle that is listed as an energy efficient vehicle: like an Impala (other vehicle names would be appreciated here!). A larger step would be to purchase a Honda Prius or the "Smart Car". Here in northern Canada, driving these small, light vehicles may have some challenges. But we are used to challenges. Step up to the plate!
