We have to quit using all this coal
and oil and switch to alternative

Why Alternative Energy?

Alternative energy is defined as any type of energy
produced without the consumption of fossil fuels. Most
types of alternative energy use renewable resources and
have little or no impact on the environment.

Alternative energy is the key to the future. With the rising
cost of fuel, most of us will not be able to purchase energy
made by fuel in the near future. It is vital that we take the
time and the money to explore alternative energy resources
for the sake of our planet and for the sake of ourselves.

The world cannot continue to support the amount of
greenhouse gases being emitted into the atmosphere every
single day. Eventually we will be forced to switch to
alternative energy methods, whether we like it or not.

               Alternative Energy Trade Fair

                                                               Peace River, Alberta
                                                       November 15th &16th, 2008

The Peace Citizens' Recycling Society is organizing an Alternative Energy Trade Fair.
There will be displayers of wind, solar, geothermal systems, builders with high
insulation factor materials, etc. There will be tours of residences and businesses in
the Peace Region that utilize alternative energy systems. Additionally, sessions will
be offered throughout the two days that train interested attendees on installation of
alternative energy systems, or how to weather proof your home or business. We
hope to cap off the Saturday evening with a “Hundred-Mile-Supper” with products
from the Peace Country featured in a buffet meal. There will be about 50 alternative
energy products that will be auctioned off to the holders of Recycling Money (that will
be earned in odd and interesting ways throughout the day on Saturday).
Entertainment will be provided by Peace Country talent – dancing, singing, and some
skits. Mark the date on your calendars and be prepared to come out and be
educated, entertained and amazed at what our region has to offer!
