Facility Supervisor Duties
Background
The supervisor will be in charge of volunteers &
handicapped individuals who work at the Recycling
Centre.
This person should have experience directing
others. An asset for the supervisor would be an
interest in environmental issues and recycling know-
how.
This person would have to be able to meet the
public and have good interpersonal skills.
This person needs to be enthusiastic and self-
motivated.
Recycling Operations:
• Ensure that materials coming in to the Recycling
Center are baled and stored
Paperwork:
• Load semi-trailer vans with bales of recycled goods
(cardboard, paper or plastic)
• Maintain the “Put 'n' Take” freecycle room -
keep it clean and orderly
Personnel:
• Take direction from the manager of the
Recycling Centre
Building:
• Oversee building maintenance- or direct that
maintenance be done
• Keep an inspection guideline and do regular
checks of the building
Equipment:
• Keep updated on equipment usage
• Keep an inspection guideline and do weekly,
yearly checks of the machinery
• Take equipment operating safety courses
• Operate and oversee the safe operation of the
baler & forklift
• Oversee the regular maintenance of equipment
• Maintain the collection site of e-waste- loading the
ewaste into the sea-can, keeping an inventory of
ewaste in the sea-can.
Advertising:
• Keep signage for recycling commodities curren
• Make a weekly report to the manager of the
Recycling Centre
